Every child should have someone who notices.
I believe every child should have access to the best learning technology there is, and to the thing that has always worked best: one-on-one teaching.
Today it comes down to luck.
Teachers know this better than anyone. They can't sit beside thirty children at once, and nobody should expect them to. Maria Montessori knew it too: her method needed an adult watching each child, and that was always the part nobody could afford. Her story is why we took her name.
If a family can pay for a tutor
Someone sits beside the child, sees where they got lost, and goes back to fix it.
If a family can't
The child gets the same lesson as everyone else, and the class moves on whether the child learned it or not.
So I started Tessorio.
It starts where each learner is.
It finds out what they already know, starts there, and goes at their pace, with a tutor beside every lesson to ask.
It works alongside teachers.
Never instead of them. A teacher brings their own curriculum, and Tessorio teaches it to each student at their level.
We're building it for young children too.
A five-year-old will be able to talk to their tutor out loud while learning to read, write and count.
The Library is free.
Anyone can take those courses without paying or making an account.
We aren't there yet.
Tessorio doesn't reach every child today, and we still have to prove how much children learn from it. We'll be honest with you about how far we've come.
